Mike WhiteWHITE HONORED BY OPTOMIST CLUB (Lima News “Applause Items” Sunday April 24, 2010)

    Sgt. Michael White was the recipient of the Shawnee Optimist  2010 Respect for Law Award.  White has been the DARE officer for the Allen County Sheriff’s Office since 2006.  He speaks to fifth- and sixth-graders in Allen County schools.  White  presents the DARE program to more than 1,000 students each year and is involved each summer in two summer camps. 

     In addition, White sets up his equipment issuing identification and DNA sample cards to children and parents, which can be used should a child be lost or abducted. During the Allen County Fair more than 1500 cards are issued.

Fred DePalma - Exchange LEOOTY 2010Sgt. Fred DePalma, Allen County Sheriff’s Office, was named the Lima Exchange Club’s Law Enforcment Officer of the Year on 02-25-10.  The Annual Award was presented at the Lima Elk’s Club.
