BROTHER JAMES K. EVERETT
SHERIFF, ALLEN COUNTY
E.O.W. FEBRUARY 7, 2017
Brother Everett ended his tour of duty on February 7, 2017. He was a 40+ year veteran of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office rising from Deputy to Detective to Det. Sergeant to Lieutenant to Captain to Chief Deputy to Sheriff in that time.
Due to the resignation of the former Sheriff, Jim was appointed Interim Sheriff by the Allen County Commissioners until the position was filled by the Republican Party. He had expressed his desire to retain that position and it was widely believed that he would be appointed because of his qualifications. Unfortunately for the entire county, Jim died just 7 days into his term.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Jim was also one of the longest running Secretaries of FOP Lima Lodge #21 as well as a multi-term President. He was a tutor, a mentor, a friend to all and one of the most steadfast and hard-working law enforcement officers in Allen County. He will be sorely missed by everyone.
Godspeed, Sheriff Everett. Your tour of duty has ended. We’ll take it from here and can only hope to serve as well as you.
The next meeting of FOP #21 and FOPA #8 will be held on Tuesday January 17, 2017. We will be installing the Lodge Officers that were elected in December for the 2017-2018 terms. FOP State President / National Vice President Jay McDonald will be doing the installation.
This is the month that the meeting dinner time changes take place that were voted on in the November meetings.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm with the dinner following at 6:30 p.m. Social time will immediately follow the dinner. This allows those with small children at home to be home at a decent hour and still be able to participate in the meeting of their lodges.
The fifth round drawings began on Wednesday April 6, 2016 and are based on Ohio’s Evening Pick 3 Lottery Game. Look at the page on the right (FOPA 52-Gun Raffle – Round 5) to see a list of the winners each week. Only 1,000 numbers, from 000 to 999 were available, and the winning numbers are again based on the Wednesday Evening Ohio Lottery Pick 3 Game. Winners each week are featured on here: http://www.fopohio21.org/?page_id=2312
